DULUTH VACATION

October 7th through October 10th I traveled to Duluth Minnesota with a friend of mine to see the fall colors. Did I mention I also LOVE Duluth and Two Harbors. We arrived Wednesday evening and I had, with trepidation, booked at a Motel 6. Yes, you heard me correctly. A Motel 6. It was the least expensive (by over half) and I thought, well, I just need a place to sleep. Still, I admit to being leery of what we both would find. We had rooms next to each other so that was a bit of comfort...maybe the old saying of "misery loves company"?

Perhaps because of my low expectations, this place more than exceeded my expectations. Even thougth they were still undergoing renovations, it was quiet when we were there.

Duluth Grill. Next to Motel 6. Great Breakfast. Highly recommend.

And let us not forget TOBIES's restaurant! A must stop on the way to and from Duluth when coming from the Twin Cities.

The above are must see's (and do's in the restaurant catagory).

The beauty of Lake Superior is beyond words. The feeling of being in God's hands

I'm hoping to get up to Duluth in the dead of Winter. Maybe next year for the annual anniversay of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Memories...it's what life is all about.
